What devices can be connected via PoE extenders?

  I’m setting up a smart office in my home, and I’ve been looking into PoE technology to power my security cameras, access points, and some other devices. However, I’m not quite sure about the limitations of PoE extenders. Can I connect other types of devices through an ethernet extender, or is it mostly for cameras and small networking equipment? I’m trying to make sure I have everything figured out before I start buying equipment. Any advice or recommendations on this would be great!
